Yes I still own it

Did you build it yourself or buy ready made or a bit of both?
Bit of both

How did you heat it in the winter?
Gas heater. But am installing Log burner/Pot belly soon

Have you ever had any major mechanical difficulties?
Nothing so far

What tools can you simply not do without?
A bit personal isn’t it?.. hahahaha. Actually I have all the tools I have ever needed so far

How did you earn an income while travelling?
I own a mobile trainset.

How long would you park up for in between ventures?
Depends on events around me

Did you do a lot of travelling off the beaten track?
Yes a few times

Have you travelled in a housebus/motorhome overseas?
No, only in NZ

What was your most favourite place to stay in NZ?
I am still looking.  Many places have been good.

How did you work out where you were going next?
I just drove forward

Did you find yourself stopping regularly to take in the sights?
Only stopped when I wanted to. If it looked good I stopped, if not didn’t

In NZ, what was the best island for roads to travel? North or South?
I have not housetrucked through the South Island yet

Did you belong to a travelling fair at any stage while you were on the road?
Yes. But what I had was not suitable for a travelling fair type environment

Would you prefer to stay in a motorcamp or find a friendly farmer or other landowner?
Farmer or Landowner. Usually because they are cheaper and some offer work to help both of us

How do you spend your time in the evenings?
Relaxing. Sometimes watching Tv

No

Describe the best thing about being able to travel in a housebus?
The freedom

How many people did you travel with?
I am travelling alone at the moment. Hoping to find someone special to travel with…. Ladies?? (hahaha)

What would you most like to forget?
Cold wet days

Have you met any “famous” people on the road?
No. But after this is published then I have met me..hahaha

Fantastic

Any tips for prospective house-busers and road folk starting out?
“Just do it”

What sort of vehicle would you recommend for potential travellers of NZ?
A bus/truck, as a camper van is too small for permanent style living

Do you think anyone thinking about getting into a housebus these days should look at the classics, or should they look towards a more modern rolling home?
The choice is entirely what the individuals taste. Look at what your needs are and find something according to that

What’s the one thing in your housebus you can’t possibly do without?
The door, but really it is the bed. I need a place to sleep, usually

What do you think is the toughest thing about travelling around in a bus these days?
“Road” costs

Did you have the toys? motorbikes, boats etc while travelling?
No only my trainset

What was your most memorable moment or period while on the road?
That, I am still waiting for
