Shell spokeswoman Kylie Reeves said the company monitored its prices on a daily basis and looked to pass on any savings it could to customers.

Yea right…

Call me cynical, but petrol was bumped up by 10c over the last two weeks, a 3c drop now just means the oil companies got two weeks of 3c a litre profit from NZ’rs, on top of the 7c a litre already being rorted from us. We all know it takes weeks for a price drop but just hours to bump it up even with stock at the old price in the holding tanks.

I’m guessing the other companies won’t follow suit, and the price will be back up again in just a few days…

I hope I’m wrong and we see another drop soon, but I feel it is just a feel-good strategy by the oil barons, buttering us up for the price rise to come. Usually twice the value of the drop.
